Wow, it's been a while since I've submitted an entry.
August 25 actually.
...
I have a weird habit of leaving Deviantart for a period of time then coming back. XD
Anyways,
So, as most of you know, I started high school in September. lD
Gotta say it's not that bad.
I'm doing average in my classes and I'm in the school play.
Which is Alice in Wonderland ... and I'm a flower. XD
I have soooo many Bases that I have to pixel art and I'm so pumped. ;D
So all in all, my life's been going pretty good so far except for one thing ....
So, I started high school on September 2nd. The day before I came home from down the shore. Now my grnadmother hadn't been feeling good most of the trip and she was supposed to go to the hospital but she refused because she knew they would keep her there and she would have to miss her vacation with her family. Later on, (the night we came home) my mother got a phone call saying my grandmother had a heart attack and was in the hospital, I got very worried because I knew she was having heart problems. But my mother found out that she was doing fine. So, I spent the rest of the nigth planning out my outfit and anticipating my first day of the high school that next day. And I woke up the next mornin bright and early all excited. But then I found it out,
At a very early time that morning, my grandmother... my beloved Nanny, passed away at the age of 62.
I was devastated, all I could do was sit there and cry. There were no words to describe the emptiness I felt.
Imagine, waking up on what was supposed to be a very important day of your life, and you find out your grandmother that you were very close to died?
My father came into my room with my mother on the phone, she had driven up a few hours before after she found out the news.
She was a mess.
She told me I could stay home If I wanted, but I knew I had to go to school. And my first day wasn't that bad, but I was still extremely upset. And my friends at school were very sweet and supportive expressing their, "I'm sorry"'s and what not.
Over the next two days, her wake was planned. It was held that Friday.
It had a few surpries.
My uncle that I hadn't seen or spoken to into about four years, came.
And two of my friends that I've known since Kindergarten showed up to the wake.
I was surprised at how many people came to say their goodbyes to that amzing woman. Family, Old friends, some old co-workers, even two of my closest friends made appearances.
I got the chance to read a poem I had found online, I'm surprised I didn't break down in the middle.
The funeral was held the next day. It went by quickly, but I'm glad we all had the chance to say one final goodbye.
We all gathered at my house afterwards, and all managed to share stories and laugh because we knew Nanny would be mad if we all sat around depressed. haha.
But I know this year is going to be hard. Nanny was always there for everything, holidays, get togethers, concerts, plays, graduations. Thanksgiving is coming up and I know it'll be hard. We'll all miss having Nanny make us laugh until we cry while we're making our pies the night before.
So, you should always appreciate what you have now, because it could be gone forever in a second.
Rest in Peace Nanny, I'll always love you not matter what. I know things will never mean the same thing without you. I never knew that when I hugged you and kissed you goodbye as the sun was setting on the eve of my first day of school, I was saying goodbye forever. </3
